Feeling good enough is accepting the limitations of a situation and the factors that cannot be controlled.
Feeling not good enough could be the result of either considering others to be better than you or underestimating your own skills and abilities. People often sell themselves short as a result of lack of self confidence. Those people don’t depend on objective judgment but rather misinterpret the events around them which proves that they are inadequate. “If I just got it right all would be OK. It’s not all O.K. So it’s my fault.. I’m not good enough.”
You can’t magically change the past, how people are towards you, your own limitations, the limitations of the situation or how you feel. Don’t take what you can’t control personally. At some level everyone feels not good enough. It’s the same for everyone.
To feel good enough we need to accept the limitations of the situation and of our control. Be aware. Understand why the situation would arise and give ourselves room to make a choice to do it differently. Understand why you feel the way you feel and accept it. You can’t stop yourself feeling what you feel. You can change how you deal with it. And then you will start to feel better.
We need to be flexible, or find other strategies for coping. Working the old strategy harder is not the answer. It never feels good enough and just adds to anxiety
Often wellbeing is dependent upon everything running PERFECTLY. If I just did x, y or z and got it right, I would feel good enough. This just isn’t true.
